Data Science in Chonburi Province, Thailand
From 25–28 March 2025, the Data Science workshop was held in Chonburi, Thailand, bringing together 15 experts and participants from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Nepal, and Thailand.
Key Activities & Progress:
Upskilling & Collaboration: 🎓💻 Focused on training field epidemiologists in data science tools, such as Python, to facilitate the translation of complex data into actionable health policy.
Technical Output: 📝 Experts reviewed regional training curricula and developed five manuscripts on health situation analysis using Python and data science tools.
Capacity Assessment: 📋 Following the workshop, an online survey was conducted from May to August 2025 to assess training needs across all ASEAN+3 FETN member countries.
Next Steps: ➡️ Data analysis and interpretation, conducted in September 2025, will guide the development of future programs to strengthen the regional epidemiology network 🤝🌐.
